My name is Madelene Louw. I am a trained and experienced Counselling Psychotherapist with experience in the NHS and private sector.  I am a registered member of both the BACP and the ACC.

I trained as an Integrative Practitioner. This approach helps me choose from a range of psychological models:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Person-Centred Therapy

  • Psychodynamic Therapy

These approaches will enable me to fashion the best approach for you. Of most significant importance is the relationship that we will develop together. Establishing a trusted alliance will be fundamental to the success of our work together.

    • Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy (MATCP)

    • Higher Diploma in Counselling (Level 5)

    • Certificate in Spiritual Direction (London Centre for Spiritual Direction LCSD)

    • Registered Member of British Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP)

    • Registered Member of the Christians in Counselling (ACC)

    • Code of Ethics:  As a BACP and ACC registered member, I abide by its Ethical Framework of Good Practice.  These policies can be found here and here.

    • I offer an initial 30-minute online session for free.  During this time, you will be able to meet me without a sense of pressure to start therapy.

    • I will forward you a contract once we complete the online assessment and agree that we can work together.  Once I receive the signed contract, we will start with therapy, and I charge £65 for a 50-minute session.

    • I offer short-term (6-12 sessions) and open-ended therapy, which can be face-to-face or online, depending on your needs.  At our first session, we will discuss what could be appropriate for you.

I instantly connected with Madelene and got more out of the sessions than I hoped. She is wonderful at listening and engaging with thoughts, making you feel seen and heard from the start. I have come away knowing myself better and feel more assured in who I am.
