Asking for help takes a lot of courage and can be the first step on your healing journey. Reaching out for support can also feel daunting. However, you are not alone on this journey. Having had personal experience of the unpredictability of life and trying to stay afloat, I know what it takes to take this step. Working together and facing life's challenges takes courage, is transformative and can be life-giving.
Cultivating trust
Usually, you could talk to trusted family or friends. However, at this moment, a private, secluded space may be what you need. I offer privacy, warmth and a trusted space where you can discuss your anxieties, fears, losses, anger or anything else at your own time and pace. I have experienced the challenges and complexities of building trusted relationships by moving countries and changing careers after being in the private sector for 20 years. Cultivating trust while sharing your experiences can be overwhelming, confusing, exciting and scary all at the same time. At times, I will be able to step into your shoes, but I will respect the boundaries of your experience.
A safe space
Living in the UK and abroad has allowed me to engage with different cultural backgrounds, religious beliefs, sexual orientations and social environments. Furthermore, exposure to the impact that religion and spirituality have on mental health is of interest to me. I offer a space that welcomes you to share your religious or spiritual experiences, whether those experiences have been beneficial to your mental health or damaging. Embracing diversity has taught me its critical role in our mental health development. I seek to cultivate a safe space, noticing and listening to the needs and desires of every person, no matter their religion, social background, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or gender.
It can be exciting
Continuing your healing journey may be long, confusing, daunting, and extensive. Personal experience has taught me that this journey is a process and can be exciting because you learn more about yourself and others. Who you decide to come alongside you to help you carry the load makes a difference on this journey. After reading this, you might think it is time to take the next step. Don't hesitate to get in touch with me.
